Jian-Jun WANG

Jian-Jun WANG is Professor and Director of Physiology Department at School of Life Sciences , Nanjing University , China . He is also Chief Scientist for Physiology, the Key Discipline of Jiangsu Province. His research interest focuses on neurobiology, particularly on the cerebellum and other subcortical motor structures. As a principal investigator, Prof. Wang has taken charge of 21 research projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation and other research grant councils. He has published 13 monographs and textbooks on neurobiology as an editor or a co-author, as well as more than 80 research papers and 13 review articles in international and Chinese leading learned journals, such as Neuroscience, Journal of Neurophysiology, NeuroSignals, NeuroReport, Brain Research, Brain Research Bulletin, Experimental Brain Research, Neuroscience Research, Neuroscience Letters, Brain Research Reviews and Cerebellum, etc. In addition, as the chief translator, Prof. Wang has introduced and translated an overseas excellent textbook entitled ¡°Neuroscience: Exploring the Brain (2nd Edition, Eds. MF Bear et al., Lippincott & Wikins, 2001)¡± and its Chinese edition has been published by High Education Press, 2004. Prof. Wang has received some awards including the ¡°First Prize of Jiangsu Provincial Scientific and Technological Progresses¡± and the ¡°Prize of the Most Important Ten Scientific and Technological Progresses in Nanjing ¡±. He was also one of the winners for the ¡°Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Scientists in Jiangsu ¡±, awarded by Jiangsu Provincial Government, and for the ¡°Excellent University Teachers of Baogang Educational Fund¡±. Now, Prof. Wang is a member of the Executive Council of the Chinese Association for Physiological Sciences, a member of the Executive Council of the Chinese Society for Neurosciences, and vice-president of the Jiangsu Provincial Society for Physiological Sciences. He is also an associate editor-in-chief of Acta Physiologica Sinica, an executive editor of Neurosciences Bulletin, and editors of Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology and Chinese Journal of Neuroanatomy.
