Dr. Xiaomin Wang`CV

Dr. Xiaomin Wang received his undergraduate training and got his BA at Dept. of Medicine, Chinese Medical University in China in 1982, and received his MS from Dalian Medical University in China in 1988, and then received joint training between Beijing Medical University in China and Munich University in Germany and got his PhD in Beijing Medical University in 1993. He is Professor and Vice Director of

 Neuroscience Research Institute, Peking University, and Executive Dean, Peking University School of Basic Medical Sciences; He is a member of the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP) and European Neuroscience Association; He is the President of Beijing Society for Neuroscience, the Chairman of Neuroscience committee of Chinese Association for Physiological Sciences, and Executive Secretary of Chinese Association for Neurosciences. From 1994-2002, He has successively worked as Visiting Scientist in Munich University, Germany; Rockefeller University, Indiana University and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in USA. His research interests are involved in the mechanism of pain and acupuncture analgesia, signal transduction and the study of neurodegenerative diseases. At present, he has mainly engaged in the study of Parkinson’s` disease sponsored by National “973” Key Basic Research Program (1999-2003), National “863” Program (2001-2003) and National Natural Science Foundation (1999-2004) of China.
