Zhang Yi

Zhang Yi, male, was born in Anguo county of Hebei province in April 1954. He graduated from medical department of Inner Mongolia Medical College in 1975, got Master degree in medicine from Xinjiang Medical College in 1990 and Ph.D. from Shanghai Institute of Physiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. As a postdoctoral fellow, he worked in Harvard University from 2000 to 2002 and in University of California , Davis from 2002 to 2003. He has been appointed as the Director of Physiological Department in Hebei Medical University , professor in Physiology, and supervisor of Ph.D. candidate since 2004.  He is also an executive committee member of the Chinese Association of Physiology and an administrative council member of Hebei Association of Physiological Sciences.

Dr. Zhang’s research is mainly focus on cardiovascular physiology, electro-physiology and ion channels of myocardium, hypoxia physiology and cardiac protection of intermittent hypoxia. He also participated in the study on respiratory control plasticity induced by intermittent hypoxia. His researches have been supported by several Natural Science Foundation in China and Natural Science Foundation in Hebei province. More than forty papers published in academic journals, of which 24 in SCI journals.
