Jiawei Zhou

Dr. Jiawei Zhou received his Ph.D. degree in Neurochemistry from the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, London , UK in 1996. During his postgraduate study, his research focused on the roles of neurotrophins in the differentiation and growth of developing catecholaminergic neurons. This project was continued in his postdoctoral research which was completed in the University of Hahnemann , USA .

In 1998, Dr. Zhou established his independent laboratory in the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences. He is now the principal investigator and professor of the Laboratory of Neural Development and Brain Repair in the Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences.
